Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Minimum 2 years previous experience in a Product Owner or Product Manager
  • 6+ years’ experience in one or more operational business unit(s) (Operations, Information Technology, Performance Management, Workforce Management, Strategy, Compliance, or other relevant operations businesses)
  • One or more of the following credentials a plus but not required: Certified Scrum Product Owner®, Professional Scrum Product Owner™, Product Manager Certificate™, SAFe® Product Owner/Product Manager, PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)®
  • Understanding of business principles and concepts. This goes beyond just understanding of realization of these concepts via business processes. It encompasses understanding of how markets influence business, what are the differentiating factors of the business, what and how values are created, and how strategy development may be supported.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Business, Finance or related field(s) a plus but not required.

Job Summary

An ERC Product Owner manages a backlog of important technical product features, and works with Product Managers, the executive team, various business departments, and technical resources to build, deliver, and manage the technical Product Roadmap. This individual needs to become intimately aware of all of the pain points and needs of our users, and interact with all sorts of technical and nontechnical stakeholders in order to make a real difference of the lives of our customers. Multiple projects are underway at any given time, and the Product Owner is responsible for delivering value in a timely manner across their responsible portfolio of technical products.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical product release planning and set expectations for delivery of new features with Product Management and key stakeholders
  • Cultivate strong working relationships with Product Management, Product Development, User Experience Design, Operations, Legal, Sales, Marketing, Training, Quality Management, Customer Success and other internal teams
  • Work with other Product Management Team members to ensure technical feature delivery is in alignment toward the ERC business goals, Moonshot and strategic vision
  • Participate in discovery sessions with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, managing multiple stakeholder expectations and priorities at the same time
  • Act as a liaison to stakeholders to achieve a desired business result, including defining and achieving profitability levels and quality standards, all while achieving the highest level of stakeholder satisfaction
  • Create and maintain the technical Product Backlog and Roadmap for your product(s) based on business objectives
  • Ensure that the technical Product Backlog is continuously groomed and prioritized to deliver maximum business value
  • Regularly demo completed product features to internal and external stakeholders, capture feedback and prioritize new feature requests appropriately based on business objectives and product performance goals
  • Develop a deep understanding of the company’s data, systems, technologies, technical products and platforms
  • Work with stakeholders and Product Management to develop business and technical requirements for internal or third-party or Product Development teams
  • Ability to transform abstract ideas into technical solutions to solve real-world business problems
  • Develop a solid understanding of the business context, market, customers and users associated with their products
  • Analyze and draw conclusions from data
  • Create charts, graphics and presentations as needed to help communicate product performance
  • Lead status meetings and working sessions for diverse groups of internal and external stakeholders – technical, operational, executive, customers, and vendors
