Work Experience Requirements:

  • 10 or more years designing, implementing, and managing large scale database environments.
  • Worked on large scale and high-risk projects implementing reliable services and/or micro-services architecture.
  • Database design skills for OLTP and OLAP solutions
  • Advanced knowledge of relational database technologies
  • Advanced knowledge of common operating systems
  • Strong experience utilizing and implementing Relational and Non-Relational data storage models.
  • Experience with cloud computing architecture
  • Significant ETL process design and development
  • Familiar with NoSQL database architecture
  • Familiar with Web Architectures and .Net technology
  • Broad understanding of various cloud development technologies and trends; developer preferences and challenges
  • Familiar with technologies like Diyotta, Cloudera and SpliceMachines
  • Knowledge of containerized environments and applications, and the tools to manage these like Kubernetes, Rancher, and similar tools.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science Engineering, Systems Engineering or within the software development field.
  • Database and Architecture Training or certifications

  • Strong problem diagnosis and resolution skills
  • Strong technical acumen; creativity; interpersonal skills; emotional intelligence.
  • Comfortable working closely with the upper management to define the strategic objectives and policies which govern Database Administration and Application Support.
  • Unparalleled attention to detail, critical thinking, and abstract analysis skills to see complex issues before they arise and resolve them
  • A desire to always self-improve, improve the team, process, and organization
  • Must possess a high level of maturity & professionalism, be self-motivated, self-driven, and unafraid of constructive criticism

Travel Requirements:

  • Up to 25% if working remote outside of the Jacksonville metropolitan area

Job Summary:

Leads the Database Administration and Application Support Group’s activities within ERC and ensures that the performance of these groups align with ERC’s objectives and policies. Works closely with the upper management to define the strategic objectives and policies which govern Database Administration and Application Support. Provides direction to team members responsible for management of these areas of responsibility. Establishes and maintains effective communication with other ERC departments to provide optimal support.


Top Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that data is available, protected from loss and corruption, and accessible in a manner that fulfills ERC business requirements.
  • A key player the establishment of architectural direction, long-term vision, and guiding principles for database technology and administration
  • Oversee and coordinate daily database and application support activities.
  • Establish Scope of Support provided by the Application support group
  • Ensure that processes, procedures and objectives are established and are compatible with the strategic direction of ERC
  • Ensure that communication regarding services provided is made to consumers of services and IT management
  • Provide management and direction to managers and team leads within areas or responsibility
