ERC employees enjoy full week of celebrations during Customer Service Week 2021
JACKSONVILLE, FL October 11, 2021 – Since its inception in 1992, few other celebrations are more anticipated or as significant as Customer Service Week in the BPO industry. Customer service representatives are subject matter experts who champion brands, products, or services in a highly competitive world and keep consumers and clients happy. Celebrated on the first week of October each year, Customer Service Week recognizes the individuals who deliver strong acts of service through exceptional customer experience. ERC, one of the top international BPO providers of customer experience solutions, hosted an entire week of fun activities for its frontline employees.
ERC’s Marketing team and the Employee Engagement team partnered to put together an action-packed agenda sure to please ERC’s employees. There was something for everyone this year, from virtual events to treats to fabulous prizes and giveaways. According to CSWeek.com, a website dedicated to all things Customer Service Week, sponsored by the Customer Service Group since 1991, the theme for this year was “The Power of Service.” ERC took this slogan and made it the focal point of all its CSW 2021 activities.
“A lot of planning, hard work, and attention to detail went into this week,” said Mike Duplessis, ERC’s Chief Talent Officer. “We know what a challenging year it has been for so many different reasons. We wanted to reward and recognize ERC employees and Customers through a full week dedicated to The Power of Service.”
CSW 2021 kicked off on Monday, October 4, with Customer Service Trivia Day. Contestants participated through ERC’s internal communications platform, the myERC app, where they were presented with different scenarios, and, using their “customer service superpower,” they were to decide on the best course of action for the chance to win prizes. Tuesday saw the pilot launch of ERC’s highly lauded Tango Tuesday and Taco Tuesday events in the Domestic and International sites, respectively.
On Wellness Wednesday, it was all about harnessing the power of Zen, mindfulness, and self-care through virtual guided meditation sessions from Headspace. ERC employees all have access to Headspace, a wellness and medidation app endorsed by many celebrities, including Kevin Hart. As a part of ERC’s well-rounded and inclusive Wellness Program, called LIFE (Lifestyle Improvement Fueling Empowerment), all employees can sign up for a sponsored Headspace account to help them manage stress, improve focus, and work out. Wellness Wednesday was the perfect opportunity to showcase this employee benefit.
For Thursday or Thor’s Day, ERC hosted a superhero party. To culminate the festivities with a BANG! Employees enjoyed happy hour and were invited to play Jukebox Bingo, hosted by professional DJ Keith Allen of Hitmix Bingo, for TGIF FriYay! ERC wanted its employees to feel appreciated. Customer Service Week was the perfect time to give back to them, show employees that they are valued, and is a terrific opportunity to serve those who support and help customers each day.

Some of the most popular events hosted during past ERC Customer Service Week celebrations have been the Relaxation Stations, which converted ERC’s breakrooms into mini spas, complemented by piped in relaxing music and aromatherapy, subdued lighting, smoothies, and healthy snacks. One memorable year, we gave our employees rockstar makeovers. Another year our mocktail bar served different colored and flavored drinks for all employees, but best of all, was the onsite office Olympic games of 2016 and the virtual picker wheel event in 2020.
